A much-loved challenge founded by The University of East Anglia’s Livewire will see students flee across the UK and Europe.
Six teams from Livewire1350, UEA’s student radio station set off from Norwich on 20 March at 11am as part of The Livewire Jailbreak Challenge.
UEA student radio hosts will have 48-hours to get as far away from campus as they can without spending any money.
The goal of Jailbreak is to raise money for Future Projects, a Norfolk based charity that aims to tackle poverty and disadvantages in local communities.
So far, Livewire has raised over £1,700.
One of the six teams consists of Livewire’s Station Manager, Nathan Winterford, and UEATV President, Kizzie Jupp.
Kizzie said: “I’m feeling quite nervous and quite stressed, but we’ve got plans. You need to stay on the [Livewire] socials to find out more!”
Nathan added: “I’m nervous about everyone else! I think we all know who’s going to win… me and Kiz!”
The Jailbreak Challenge previously ran annually.
However, due to the Coronavirus pandemic, this is the first time UEA has seen the challenge return after a six-year-long hiatus.
The challenge is set to finish on Sunday 22 March.
