Whenever you choose to browse your holidays, whether you are an early-bird planner or a last minute deals browser, you are normally looking at tourist hotspots and hotel destinations. How often do you think of the traveling you can do on arrival? Maybe after this article you will begin to think what bus rides, tours and car journeys you can take when you next travel abroad or plan your staycation.
Let’s start closer to home, where you are prioritizing packing the wet weather gear rather than the sun cream and aloe vera gel. Britain has some incredible landscapes. From Scotland all the way to the southern counties, there are breath taking places to see and the best way to experience the wonder of these places is to drive through them. Let’s start from the top – in Scotland you can visit one of the most publicized roads in the UK called North Coast 500. 516 miles of castles, beaches, hills and valleys with it’s own website for you to browse if this article inspires you. In the legendary Peak District you have several well known roads. In my opinion the most unexpected delight is Winnats Pass, a blind corner leads to a steep winding climb into the sky and who wouldn’t want to explore the crystal cavern at its top! Let’s go left before we go over water and appreciate the tarmac of Wales. The Coastal Way following an oceanic path of our west coast, is 180 miles in total but is voted one of the best road trips in the world if you have the time and petrol to explore the entirety of it. Over the water to Ireland, there are many to choose from however I believe your jaw will drop at the Ring of Derry with the breathtaking beauty of the cliff formations or the causeway coastal route where you can see a world-renowned landmark as well on the roadtrip.
To discuss further afield in this article would be a challenge too great for the word count, but other countries best rated for the road trip are, obviously and famously, America, Canada, Australia and Germany; so I highly recommend looking at the tours and travel routes of the area, instead of spending as much time comparing hotel buffets (still incredibly important though).
