Writing for fashion this year has been an incredibly fun task, and I’m so glad I got to be a part of the Concrete team. In all honesty, I had not written at all for Concrete until this year, as I did not really know how it all worked, so in a way, when I applied, I was sort of throwing myself in the deep end! That being said, no risk, no reward, right? Fashion, fashion news, and fashion history, really have all been a lifelong passion of mine, so getting to be in charge of coming up with writing pieces related entirely to that was kind of perfect for me. Perhaps my favourite article I wrote was about the history of lingerie, which was published in February. I already was really interested in historical fashion, but researching for this piece let me learn so many things I had totally no idea about before. Every article I wrote gave me an opportunity to learn something new, which I loved.

I decided to step things up a bit for next year, so I challenged myself with going for the role of Venue co-editor, and I was lucky enough to get it! I’m certainly not going to stop writing for fashion any time soon, but I’m hoping this year has given me enough courage and experience to make a great co-editor. I’m feeling optimistic about the future, and I hope everyone reading this is optimistic too. Those of you that want to continue being a part of Venue, I look forward to working with you next year!
