A second Students’ Union officer has resigned following the exit of the first in November.

Bhaskar Shivanna, who was the UEASU Postgraduate Officer, is reported to have resigned from his role earlier this month.

The officer was in his second year of the role, having been elected two years in a row.

He described how he was “really proud” of the work he’d been able to carry out on behalf of the postgraduate community.

“I’ve gone above and beyond to represent postgraduate students, from contributing to future policies to improving the day-to-day experience of current students.

“I’m especially proud of introducing cultural events that have brought colour and warmth to the international postgraduate community.”

It is understood that his last working day was 14 January 2026.

In a statement, the Students’ Union said, “We thank both the PG and C&D FTOs for the work they accomplished for students and UEA during their tenure.”

It comes two months after UEASU Campaigns and Democracy Officer, Chris Kershaw, was reported to have resigned in November

Elections for new UEASU full-time officer are expected to begin in February.
