The number of campaigners running for full-time officer positions in the Students’ Union Spring elections have almost doubled compared to last year.
The polls to elect student representatives will open at 9AM on Monday 23 February 2026, with official candidates announced on the SU Instagram account over the weekend.
This year, 30 people will run for full-time officer positions, compared to only 18 last year.
The process aims to allow students to decide who will represent the SU under five ‘categories’ for the next academic year.

UEA describes itself as a democratic organisation, where key decisions are made by students, for students.
An event hosted by the Students’ Union on 24 February, called ‘Candidate Question Time’, will offer the opportunity to ask candidates questions about their manifestos.
