The House of CB has become synonymous online with basque waistlines and feminine silhouettes, but the brand started as a copier of big designs; they made a very well-known £30 dupe of the Hervé Léger bandage dress in the 2010s. They’ve worked hard to move past these humble origins by rebranding as a high-end UK brand, but contrary to their proud signs stating they’re “Designed in London,” they still outsource to China. Not to mention the materials, which are mostly plastic. It makes me wonder why the dresses are £300 now, despite there being no change in manufacturing or materials.
