A Waveney Valley MP has lost the Green’s leadership election against the party’s deputy leader.

Adrian Ramsay, an MP since 4 July 2024, lost the Green Party Leadership contest to the party’s deputy leader, Zack Polanski.

Ramsay, who ran for co-leader alongside North Herefordshire MP Ellie Chowns, received 3,705 votes to Polanski’s 20,411 in a party ballot.

In a statement, the co-leaders said: “We’d like to congratulate Zack Polanski on his election as Leader of the Green Party.

“Our party is in the strongest position in it’s history.

“Together we will continue to build on the extraordinary progress the Green Party has made, and take it further than ever before.”
