Students from the University of East Anglia have organised a concert featuring multiple bands to raise funds for Palestine, Ukraine, and Sudan.

Live UEAid will take place at Voodoo Daddy’s in Norwich on the 6 March and will include live performances from musicians affiliated with UEA.

Artists include The Aide, a four-piece band from Norwich, Eezy, a solo rapper and UEA graduate, and Olga Sovenko, a Ukrainian folk and pop singer and member of UEA staff.

The concert is being supported by Alliances of Understanding, a UEA initiative created by Dr Syed Haider and Dr Mariagiulia Grassilli.

It aims to encourage thoughtful discussion and cross-cultural understanding in response to global conflict.

Organisers say the event adopts the same spirit of collective action through music, inspired by 1985 Live Aid concerts that raised money for famine relief in Ethiopia.

Tickets are available online, and all proceeds from sales will go directly to charities for the three regions to provide emergency aid and humanitarian support.
