The music world gave us a lot to discuss this February giving us fans a lot to talk about. First, the man who brought one of the best halftime show performances in years, Kendrick Lamar.

On February 9th, a record-breaking statement of a performance by Kendrick Lamar took the world by storm. With over 130 Million viewers worldwide, Kendrick served a memorable and smoothly choreographed concert showcasing the force of talent Kendrick has given us this last year. Performing iconic tracks such as “HUMBLE”, ‘peekaboo’, ‘tv off’ & more, especially songs featuring the terrific SZA who performed alongside him, Lamar gifted fans & casual audiences an exciting and experimental experience.

However, despite Uncle Samuel Jackson’s warnings on stage, Kendrick performed what everyone wanted to hear, his hit 2024 diss-track against Drake, ‘Not Like Us’ which garnered millions upon millions of views online, a performance that will be remembered for a long time. February gave two of the biggest award shows in the industry in the Grammys & the BRITs with each show providing something to talk about. Some big wins from the Grammys this year with Chappel Roan winning Best New Artist after her meteoric rise last year as well as delivering a fantastic performance on stage with her hit song ‘Pink Pony Club’.

The record and song of the year was shared by none other than Kendrick Lamar once again with the single ‘Not Like Us’ and the album of the year was given to Beyoncé and her country debut with Cowboy Carter, beating the likes of Sabrina Carpenter, Taylor Swift and the previously mentioned Chappel Roan who had a lot to say that night demanding record labels need to be treating their artists with more respect, saying on stage “Labels, we got you, but do you got us?”

More recently, the BRITs gave us some other big wins and statements with none other than Charli xcx winning album of the year with her year defining record Brat taking home the glory over albums from The Cure, The Last Dinner Party & Dua Lipa. In other news from the award show, Ofcom was lit up with angry phone calls over Sabrina Carpenter’s raunchy performance. Sabrina caught the nation’s attention with a regal showcase of songs of her latest record.

From the rock world, at SNL’s 50th Anniversary, Nirvana reunited on stage, with Dave, Krist & Pat performing their hit song ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ with a vocalist unexpected to some but a known Nirvana megafan, Post Malone taking vocals and guitar doing his best to bring out his inner Kurt Cobain. Could the world see a Nirvana reunion tour with Post taking on Cobain’s legacy?

Finally, February saw a hilarious interaction with a crowd in London a few weeks ago with Mr. Worldwide himself, the club icon Pitbull being greeted to a sea of fans all in bald caps with Pitbull adoring the gesture, laughing alongside the fans and thanking them. Mr. Worldwide, never change.
