Here we are already! Where does the time go?

It’s my final chapter as Books Editor, and we’re closing the book on my time here with an issue that features two amazing interviews, one final book review and an article about reading for your mental health.

All I really have to say before I go is a sentiment that (coincidentally) runs through this year’s last few Books articles:

Live your life. Do the things that you never thought you’d able to. When I applied to be the Books section editor, it was on a complete whim, and never in a million years did I think I would actually be in this role a year later. I never would have gotten to meet or work with such amazing people if I didn’t take that infinitesimal chance. So, go for opportunities, write that novel, submit the article pitch you’re unsure about. It doesn’t matter what you choose to do or even if you fail; all that matters is that you try.

It’s been great getting to work with everyone in the Concrete and Venue team, and everyone who has written for the section this last year. Reading and editing your articles has been nothing but a pleasure, so thank you for making it so! It’s all been down to you.

And thank you for reading!

– Daniel.
