It’s golden hour — a good thing because the windows are large. Through them, you can see the greenery of the garden, the branches of an apple tree and cherry blossom. There’s three vases on the countertop, two with bouquets of flowers I happened to like whilst out shopping. The centre vase in front of the sink stands the most beautiful of them all— one of your choosing. The open tulips compliment the amber rays of early spring.

The eggshell-white countertops of our kitchen have several drawers. We chose a mosaic pattern for the splashbacks beside the sink and hobs. Some of the windows are painted glass— so with the sun’s influence, colour enters our home and makes us whole. A wooden table and chair sit opposite, with currently unattended notebooks and storyboards. The ceiling is painted a rosy colour, so when we look upwards we are met with joy.

Transparent cupboards reveal assorted glassware and mugs, of which we have a great collection. When we first met you had one mug and one glass to your name. Let us share several.

There are warm lanterns that hang from the ceiling; they emit a light that well compliments the sunset at hand. There’s a fruit bowl in the corner that we made together. It has hand-painted glazed strawberries that we reddened in a kiln. The colours were intended to be softer but they’re almost saron and brighten the room. We are fortunate enough to have a fridge full of vegetables; we anticipate the making of healthy foods.

We are not cooking in the kitchen; nor sitting at our desks that rest side-by-side. I’ve dragged you out, beneath the trees, to watch the sunset with me; I will take you to admire every piece of this Earth until you admire it as much as I. My happy place is sharing my stories, and it is sharing my life with you.
