Whether it’s a first date or 5-year anniversary, coming up with a good date idea can often be stressful. Hopefully this list can provide some help for anyone in need this Valentine’s Day and beyond!
1. Crazy golf at Mulligans (Wherry Road)
Mulligans is a great date spot at any time of the year. You can book a slot to access their 18-hole crazy golf course and once you have completed that, you can buy tokens to play pool, shuffleboard, and air hockey! They also have a photo booth where you can create a paper memory of your time there!
2. Book shopping in The Book Hive (London Street)
The Book Hive is a cosy bookshop in the heart of Norwich, with multiple floors of modern and vintage books. Maybe pick one out that reminds you of your partner, or choose something you can read together!
3. Cocktails in The Cozy Club (London Street)
The Cozy Club is a beautiful restaurant in the city. The front section is a cocktail bar where they serve classic and contemporary cocktails and drinks, something for everyone!
4. Bottomless pancakes at Bill’s (Back Of The Inns)
This is a good budget option whilst still going out to eat. Bottomless pancakes are £9.95 Saturday to Thursday, or only £5 on Friday when you purchase a drink.
5. Norwich Castle (Castle Street)
This is a great choice if you are on a budget as Norwich Castle is free for students. It’s a beautiful building to explore and contains plenty of interesting history about Norwich.
6. Sainsbury’s Centre (Norfolk Road)
If you’re looking to have a nice day out without travelling too far, the Sainsbury’s Centre on campus has a lot to offer. Their cafe has great food and comes with beautiful views of UEA’s green spaces. Check out the exhibitions that are on, they can be great conversation starters!
7. Norwich Theatre Royal (Theatre Street)
There are so many great theatres in the city, but Norwich Theatre Royal is especially great to catch all the touring West-End shows without having to travel to London. Shows coming up in 2026 include Legally Blonde, Mamma Mia and Six.
8. Afternoon Tea at The Assembly House (Theatre Street)
One of the most beautiful buildings in the city, this is a great choice for a romantic date. Their afternoon teas are often themed to the season or to events going on in Norwich at the time.
9. The Cat House (Dereham Rd)
A cute, quirky date spot, The Cat House is a great option. You can grab a drink and bite to eat whilst you play with the friendly cats that wander around!

10. Hollywood Bowl (Wherry Road)
A good date for all the competitive couples out there! The bowling alley is in Riverside, so you have plenty of places to eat afterwards.
