SW19 season is well underway and, as expected, this year’s spectators are dressed to turn heads this season, with media outlets seeming to cover who’s wearing what more than the tournament’s gameplay itself.
Kate Middleton has been a standout figure who has caught the public’s attention this season, with her looks never falling short of elegance and intent.
Opting for pastel shades of dress and monochrome patterns with the occasional vibrant block of colour, the Princess of Wales has been a main contributor to our expectations of outfitting at Wimbledon.
Pastel colours seem to be a popular trend with spectators this year, after Elle Fanning was photographed with a pastel multicoloured dress on day 8, bringing colour to the tournament this summer.
This was paired with a minimalistic monochrome block heel and a small black handbag, both simple accessories to complement and centralise her seasonal dress beautifully.
Influencer Lucinda Strafford also reflected the summer feeling beautifully with her butter yellow midi dress, paired with ballet flats and a shoulder bag, both in a muted pink shade.
This was complemented by her partner (Sean Stone), who dressed in cream suit trousers and a dark double-breasted blazer; the couple look sleek and expensive – fitting the branding of SW19 flawlessly.
Whilst Wimbledon doesn’t have a dress code for guests, part of the tournament’s timeless charm is the requirement of all players to be dressed in white.
Naomi Osaka has proven this does not mean the outfits have to be boring though – with social media platforms such as X and Instagram praising her bold outfit choices on the court.
Starting off her first Wimbledon match of the season strong, she came onto the court in a white full-length ceremonial gown. Naomi’s geisha-inspired gown paid a nod to her Japanese heritage, completing her outfit with a white hair ornament made up of several white flowers.
It didn’t take long before fans expressed their contentment with this striking choice, leading to the Wimbledon court becoming comparable to the likes of a fashion runway.
This certainly will not be the last of Naomi’s daring outfits, as fashion continues to evolve and shape the nature of SW19 for another season among both players and spectators.
