As someone with the largest tote bag deemed reasonable for university, laden full of pockets for every essential item which I aim to carry, I feel I may be well suited to bestow my exam season essentials on to you good folk.

Firstly, let’s chat about study items. Pack all those chargers and use the uni’s electricity, just don’t say you read it here! Bring extra pens as they have a mind of their own, you’ll take 5 and wonder where they all are by lunchtime. I also find it helpful to have headphones or earplugs, as focused study suits me best.

Secondly, let’s talk fun stuff, beginning with snacks. Snacks are key to staying focused throughout long study sessions, so whether you pick fruit or candies, get them in there. It is also important to mention hydration, so pack a water bottle and don’t neglect those 3 litres a day. Maybe also consider packing something for study breaks. Studies have proved the Pomodoro technique to be successful: it consists of 25 minutes of studying followed by a 5-minute break. So, if you want to read your personal book or catch up on a new season on Netflix, prepare to pack what you need.

Lastly, it’s getting warmer, so if you are going to be hitting the lake after the library, make space in those baggies for SPF and sunnies. There’s no better way to shake off the day than relaxing outside – or obviously, you could revise outside to begin with! But is it also worth adding in the British summertime to bring a coat as well?
